On behalf of Arbora Homes, Chartered Building Contractor Marfleet and Blyth has started construction at the 6.7 acre (2.71Ha) site in Gosfield, a historic and picturesque village in the mid Essex countryside.
Planning permission for the site, known as The Lindens, was approved for 17 units in June 2020. The development will consist of 17 low carbon, high quality aspirational homes, including six affordable two and three bedroom houses. These will be split between affordable rent and shared ownership tenures.
Michael Reeves, Land Director of Arbora Homes, said: “Arbora Homes values aspirational, sustainable living which is synonymous with all of our developments. The Lindens is no exception, with the properties featuring spacious living and thoughtful high-end design considerations throughout, including sustainable specifications. Each eco-friendly home features Air Source heat pumps with energy efficient underfloor heating, wiring to facilitate solar and house batteries, and electric car charging capabilities.”
A new road and footpaths to the development, accessed via The Street, will feature a mature lime tree lined avenue at the development’s entrance and lead to a range of well-spaced two, three and four bedroom homes presented in an array of semi-detached and detached orientations.
The Lindens also includes approximately 1.4 acres of public open space to the north of the development, another large area to the south and a wildlife corridor to the west. In addition to this, Arbora Homes is providing an Open Space Contribution in excess of £30,000 towards the provision of a new skateboard ramp at Gosfield’s Recreation Ground on Church Road.
A mere five miles from Braintree train station, linking to London and Norwich, and easy access to the A120, The Lindens boasts fantastic transportation links, despite occupying a secluded countryside location.
